The Wood Family. We always have to tell people we are a tree not a forest because people tend to call us The Woods family. Chris Wood and Shannon Wood met in 4th grade at Peyton School and graduated together. We were married June 26, 1999. We built our first home right behind Safeway. We have pictures of just our foundation with Safeway in the background!

Our oldest son Brian lives with his wife Liz in Fruita, CO with their two fur babies and love the opportunities they have to run, hike and ride bikes. They are very happy to finally call Colorado their home. Bailee was born in December of 2000 and Kilee Jo was born in July of 2003. Our last one was born August of 2007. Jaxon is the reason we purchased our home in Meridian Ranch in 2007 and we have been here ever since. We ran out of space in our first house – not a bad problem to have 😊. We have made so many great friends, neighbors and memories here. Fourth of July has always been a huge hit in our cul de sac! Bailee graduated from vet assistant school from Pima Medical Institute and has a job at For Paws right here in Falcon. We are very proud of her. Kilee and Bailee also have a love for basketball and coach the Falcon Bombers Girls Basketball Team.  Kilee graduated from Northeastern Junior College and played basketball during her time there. She is currently pursuing a degree in early childhood education at UCCS.  Jaxon attends Falcon High School and plays for Falcon Football and loves his choir classes.

Shannon graduated from CU the Springs in 2000 and Chris Wood started our insurance agency, Pikes Peak Insurance Agency in 2005. We went from 1 client then to now over 2000! We are overwhelmed and overjoyed with the success we have had and so happy that we moved our office to Falcon in the State Bank Building in August of 2020. Along with our 8 employees, we are super ecstatic about this move. Falcon is our home. Chris Wood is the Varsity Head Coach for the Falcon Girls Basketball team and has been for 3 years. He had the pleasure of coaching both of our daughters. However, he has been coaching for several years. He started with a club basketball team called Storm and then coached the Falcon Bombers, Falcon Primetime and then got his first paying job at Falcon Middle School for girls basketball and now is at the High School. Coaching is what Chris Wood was born to do. Shannon works 2 days a week at Palmer Chiropractic in Falcon and has been there almost 5 years. Shannon maintains our home, 5 dogs and runs around to watch basketball and football and be a team mom. That is Shannon's passion.

Our pets include JJ a Chihuahua, Melanee is an Australian Shepherd, Vador is a Mini Australian Shepherd and our latest and greatest is a Great Dane named Stormee. Sadly we just lost a family member – Sasha – she was a Picachi – ½ Pekinhese ½ Chuhuahua (only 6 lbs). That was a hard loss for our family. She had been with since our oldest was in middle school. If our family had a motto to live by it would definitely be “Laughter is the Best Policy”. Chris Wood and the kids can make anyone laugh. The kids are very talented at piano, ukulele, singing, coaching and entertaining.

 

Debbie Butcher has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Debbie began her career in 1995 as a Customer Service Representative for a local Independent Insurance Agency in Colorado Springs. She received her Property/Casualty license in 2001, and since then she’s been selling policies to fit individual client needs with an emphasis on long-term relationship building as well as excellent customer service. Debbie began specializing in commercial insurance in 2004. She gained extreme knowledge working with top Sales Agents, and Account Executives at Wells Fargo Insurance Services as a Commercial Lines Account Manager.

She joined Pikes Peak Insurance Agency in 2018 to bring her knowledge and dedication to grow our Commercial Lines Department.

Debbie enjoys cooking, riding bikes, and having bbq’s with the family! She has three wonderful kids, Trevor, Brittany, and Dante. Debbie also adores her 10-month-old Shih Tzu named Pepper! She absolutely loves spending time with her three beautiful grandkids Maleena, Lilliana, and Isabella.

Kim Adams has been a licensed Personal Lines agent since 1998. She has held many positions within the insurance industry to include producer, trainer, auditor, and underwriter. She has an Associate in Claims (AIC) professional designation, which is for professionals with enhanced skills training to handle different types of insurance claims. Kim Adams is an Army brat and lived in Colorado as a child and returned to live here full time in 1996. Kim Adams, her husband Joe and her daughter Grace are passionate about animals. They have three dogs and five cats of their own. They also serve as a foster family for dogs waiting for adoption. While she would like to say she spends her time doing fabulously exciting things, the reality is Kim Adams spends her time vacuuming and doing laundry. Lots and lots of vacuuming!

Donald Wood has been licensed in insurance since 2007, specializing in Property and Casualty, and Life. Donald has worked in both captive and independent agencies. He spends most of his free time coaching basketball, both for youth and Falcon High School, where he currently serves as the Varsity Boys Head Coach. He has two amazing kids that he absolutely adores- Aubrey and Aiden. If he is not coaching or spending time with his kids, you can find him camping, riding ATV’s, and spending time with family.

Gretchen Pufpaff has been licensed in Life and Health since 2013, and has worked as an independent sales consultant until coming onboard with Pikes Peak Insurance Agency in July of 2020. She has lived in Colorado since 1982, grew up in Black Forest, graduated from Liberty High School and received her bachelor’s from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Gretchen Pufpaff loves spending time with her family and doing anything outdoors- camping, running, taking long walks, reading, cooking, and laughing. Her 7 kids definitely keep her on her toes.

Melinda Murray received her Life and Health license in 2016 after hanging up her coat in the veterinary field, which she worked in for 20 years. After a complete career change, she has found herself passionate about all things insurance. Working as an independent sales consultant in Life and Health drove her love for serving clients. Melinda grew up in Colorado Springs and after graduating from Doherty High School she finished up her college degree in Denver. She and her husband and their 5 children have been living in the Falcon/Peyton community since 1998. She loves all things outdoors, especially camping, atv riding, boating, hiking, skiing and spending time working in her yard. Most of her free time, however, is spent in a gym or on a field watching her kids play the sports they love. Her best things in life are her hubby, kids, and her pets who are 100% family members.

Cheryl joined Pikes Peak Insurance in June of 2023 and has been a licensed Personal Lines Agent since 1998. She has held many positions such as Producer, Service and Trainer. Prior to working in the insurance industry, Cheryl was in the Navy as a Religious Program Specialist and served on the USS Emory S. Land. Cheryl is a Colorado native as well as her husband Chris. Together they have 3 kids, Brandon, who followed in Mom’s footsteps and is currently in the Navy and stationed on a submarine in Hawaii, and daughters Jillian and Sophia. Cheryl and her family enjoy going to sporting events and rooting on their favorite team the Denver Nuggets, going to concerts, taking trips to Disneyland as well as just spending time with family at home with their beloved pets.

Hello Everyone! I'm Krystle Apple, the newest member of Pikes Peak Insurance Agency. I was born and raised on Southern California and moved to Colorado about 16 years ago with my Husband Christian who is a native of Colorado Springs. I have 10 years’ experience in the industry, working on both personal policies and complex business insurance packages and came from a banking background. My husband and I are parents to a daughter named Hayley and we are blessed to have my husband's extended family close by. We spend our downtime swimming, playing and painting. I am excited to join such a great team and to help grow our Commercial Insurance division!
